Who We Help - Mars and Jim Louvau
A moment of gratitude: "Back in May when our 2-year-old daughter Mars was diagnosed with Leukemia my phone rang right after we returned home from the hospital and it was Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age on the line. He said, 'I heard what's going on with your daughter and I want to help, I can't even imagine what you're going through.'
Josh's foundation, The Sweet Stuff, helped make sure that we weren't totally overwhelmed with some of initial medical/living expenses while Mars received intense cancer treatment. He reaches out to check in on Mars and her progress and lends his ear. We are proud to call Josh and both QOTSA/The Sweet Stuff camps our friends and we're so thankful for their help.
Mars is in her 4th month of treatment and she's had to experience some of the worst things we've ever seen someone her age have to endure. Later this month we start the next phase of her 2 1/2 year treatment plan with much of it involving living in and out of the hospital for eight weeks. We were told by doctors that this will likely the most challenging part of the journey for her and us a family."
